Welcome to your NEWT year! These tasks are more centered on using transfiguration. Therefore, one or two sentences will not be acceptable. Treat these tasks like an essay. You can be creative as much as you want, however. If you have any questions, please message me, and I will answer you as soon as I can.

To pass this year, you must submit TWO tasks below to the Owlery. One from Term 1, the other from Term 2.

 

Term 1:

Option #1:

Just like everything else, transfiguration has its own dangers. Describe in detail the dangers and the long-term effects of transfiguration. Include examples of both self-transfiguration and normal objects. (500 word minimum)

Option #2: 

Becoming an animagus is a complex process, and it has the potential to backfire and cause the transformation to go horribly wrong. It did not take a day for the Mauraders to become animagi. It took them three years to be exact! An animagus is a witch or wizard who can morph him or herself into an animal at will. It is a learned skill. What is the process of becoming an animagus? How is the animal one becomes decided? Be as descriptive as possible! Also, describe the dangers that one can encounter if something were to go wrong. (500 word minimum)

Option #3:

Part One: What is the difference between self-transfiguration and animagus? Explain the difference by providing examples of the two and how they are related to transfiguration. Be sure to include things such as behavior and how each comes about as we are talking about animagi. (250 word minimum)

 

Part Two: You have discovered the difference between self-transfiguration and animagus transformations, so now you are going to discover the difference between metamorphagus, animagus, and werewolves. Describe each on in your own words what they are. Then, compare the three by describing how they are different by looks as well as by transformation. (250 word minimum)

Option #1:

Below are a list of names of people that I want you to determine what his or her animagus should be. Remember everything you have discovered about animagus thus far. (500 word minimum for total count)

Option #2: 

For this option, I would like for you to choose between Switching and Trans-Species Transfiguration. Remember that Switching is the art of magically exchanging physical features between two targets while the Trans-Species is the art in which one organism is transformed into something of a different species. The only KNOWN sub-group for switching is the Cross-Species Transfiguration, which is a PROBABLE example of Trans-Species as well. In your practical that you will submit to the Owlery, I want you to be as detailed as possible in providing a demonstration of the type that you have chosen. Explain what you did and and how you did it with images, explanations, and/or gifs. I would like you to challenge yourselves. (500 words minimum)
